Blood Analysis

The different cell types in blood are characterized by using the Advia 120 analysis that provides absolute counts of red cells, reticulocytes, white cells and platelets as well as volume and hemoglobin distribution in the red cell population and a white blood cell differential. Changes in amino acid composition of plasma or red cells are important parameters to define the environment of blood cells as well as the state of nitric oxide (NO) metabolism. Altered blood cells and interactions between them will lead to differences in plasma factors involved in hemostasis as well as changes in cytokines, growth factors  as well as compounds involved in adhesion, and inflammation.
