Human Cell-Free Hemoglobin (cfH) Assay

Quantitation of cell-free hemoglobin (cfH) is a diagnostic parameter for hemolysis related to various disease states and hemoglobinopathies.

The hemoglobin assay is a colorimetric measurement in which the hemoglobin is converted into a uniform colored end product allowing for the quantitative determination of hemoglobin concentration in fresh or frozen plasma, serum, or urine without prior sample purification. This assay is for research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. The detection range of the assay is 0.9-200 mg/dL. If specimens generate values higher than the detectable range, specimens are diluted and repeated.
